Harvest Blue Website Launched
A cooperative website to support grassroots Democrats launched Sunday, January 28. The website, harvestblue.org is a joint effort among Democratic organizations in Kansas.
The initial cooperative members include the Big First Congressional District Democratic Committee, a coordinating group for Democrats and county parties over the largest Congressional district in the state.
The Big First is joined by the Democratic central committees for Kingman, Rooks, Thomas and Ellis Counties - four rural county parties with robust leadership and plans for electoral work in 2024.
The Food and Farm Caucus of Kansas Democrats, an issues-focused ancillary organization, will host its own pages on the site, as well as act as the cooperative’s sponsor and administrator.
“We are excited to launch Harvest Blue and support this online place for connecting and work,” said Bill Heatherman, Chair of the Food and Farm Caucus. “This site is launched in the same spirit as the ag cooperatives that helped Kansas farmers take on special interests a century ago.”
The website is an independent effort of grassroots Democratic organizations. Membership in the cooperative is open to organized Democratic County committees and other formally recognized ancillary organizations associated with Kansas Democrats.
