“Running Out” - Thomas Co Dems Talk Groundwater at March 14th Meeting

Post-Script - Meeting Notes from Thomas County:

We had a cozy and informative presentation March 14th on groundwater management in northwest Kansas, with special guest, Shannon Kenyon, District Manager of Groundwater Management District 4 in NW Kansas. We had some fascinating oral history from people involved in the early days, both before and after Shannon’s presentation - enjoy the video.

Original - Meeting Invitation:

Thomas County Democrats and Friends (other unaffiliated counties in Northwest Kansas) will have their March meeting via Zoom on Thursday March 14th from 7 to 8 pm.

Lucas Bessire’s 2021 memoir “Running Out” is a personal reckoning with aquifer depletion and home.

The meeting will feature a discussion of Kansas Groundwater issues. We are encouraging reading of the book, Running Out, by Lucas Bessire and/or listening to High Plains Public Radio’s book club’s short audio features on the book.

A variety of interested speakers have been invited to attend our March meeting. (Update: Groundwater District #4 manager, Shannon Kenyon, will be our guest speaker.)

Contact us to get more meeting details, including Zoom login.
