Keep Going
by Kim Zito
Hello my fellow Democratic warriors!
I wanted to check in with you all and see how you are doing. It’s been a rough few days for our country, not just Democrats.
Kim Zito (D), candidate of Kansas House, Dist 67
But yes, Democrats who are working so tirelessly towards this election.
I was out knocking on doors Saturday, Sunday, and last night—and clearly: hearts are heavy. People are worried, anxious, defeated, even angry. The uncertainty is palpable and ubiquitous.
But here’s the angle I want to leave you with:
This past weekend, I registered new voters because they want to make sure their voices are heard. The fact is that people are weighed down, people are paying attention, people are seeking ways to vote!
This is the takeaway: people are going to take action this November!
So keep your chins up. Keep doing the work. Keep reaching out to fellow Democrats. When they see there are people doing the work, believe me, they are ever so grateful. I’ve been met with so much gratitude because people are feeling the despair. And they feel comfort when they see brave people out here pounding the pavement working for democracy.
Keep going, friends. Remember, Plessy v. Ferguson was struck down when Kansas took Brown v. BOE all the way to the Supreme Court. We will not allow the Roberts Court to have the final say!!!
